Leaving on a jet plane
The first step is the hardest right?
If you had told me 2 years ago that David and I would actually get on a plane to the other side of the world to go dive and explore for 6 months, I would’ve told you that you’re nuts. It was only something we dreamed about, not something we actually did.
Then life happens, things change, and the future you thought you had all figured out isn’t there anymore.
I think that’s the hardest part about this entire journey for me, not knowing what comes next.
For 25 years, I’ve always had a plan, goal, or mission. You read that right, since I was 9, I’ve always known what I wanted to do and be someday. Then, I “did” all of those things, or at least variations of them. I told people when I resigned from my job, that it was time for us to dream new dreams, especially with the loss that our family acquired this past year. What better way to do that than to uproot our whole lives and fly half way across the world for a walkabout?
With a ton of baby steps, it finally happened. We started in Denver, landed in Vancouver, and promptly took a 14 hour flight to Hong Kong!
It’s hard to leave your family, friends, house, and dog behind! It’s hard to step into the unknown and not have a clue where you’re going or what you’re doing. At this point, it’s a day by day process seeing how we are feeling, what we have the space and energy for, and what fills our cups!
It’s not easy, but we are doing it, and that’s half the challenge.

You two are my heroes!!!
